Volunteering

Volunteers will receive a full or partial refund of their registration fee at the end of the weekend based on the number of hours worked. Check here to receive more details in the weeks before the event.

TSHIRTS

Our tshirt this year is again being designed by artist and fellow dancer Sara Argue, of Sarabellum Studio. The design is being finalized but you can still order one for $18. Just like last year the shirts will be high-quality American Apparel fine jersey tshirts: comfortable and flattering! The Ladies shirts are #2102 (these run small) and the Unisex shirts are #2001. HOUSING

If you are from out of town and looking for a place to stay, or if you have space and are willing to host some dancers for the weekend then we would love to hear from you. Select the appropriate option below and we will email you when the housing questionnaires are available.

Waiver

I, as a registrant and dancer participating in the Boston Independence Exchange held May 28, 2010 through May 31, 2010 in the Boston, MA metropolitan area and the surrounding areas (“BIX 2010”) hereby:

1) acknowledge the risks inherent in participating in any physical activity such as dancing (including but not limited to physical, emotional and/or psychological damage) and hereby waive my right to any claim for damages from, and relieve, release, and forever discharge from any claim for damages, any and all of the following: members of the BIX 2010 organizing committee, volunteers, dance promoters, venue owners, instructors, band members, DJs, and other individuals, groups or businesses hosting events or otherwise participating in BIX 2010 (collectively, the “Hosts”); and

3) acknowledge the risks inherent in participating in a lindy and/or blues exchange weekend, including but not limited to risks arising from transportation to and from events, residing in private homes and attending dances, parties, picnics, shows, and other events during BIX 2010, and hereby waive my right to any claim for damages from, and relieve, release, and forever discharge from any claim for damages, any and all of the Hosts; and

3) state that I am in good physical and mental health and know of no reason why I should be unable to fully participate in this activity; and

4) agree to indemnify and hold harmless any and all of the Hosts from any and all claims and demands for injury to any person or damage or loss of property as a result of my participation in BIX 2010.
